Jurien Bay District High School (DHS) is located on the Turquoise Coast 215 kilometers north of Perth and 200 kilometers south of Geraldton. It is located in the Mid West Education Region. The school caters for students from Jurien Bay, Leeman, Green Head, Cervantes, Badgingarra and the surrounding farming districts. The school provides an educational program for a range of students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The Senior School program (year 11 and 12) is in collaboration with the Durack Institute of Technology - Batavia Coast Marine Institute, School of Isolated and Distant Education (SIDE), Construction Onsite Training and VETis Consulting. Senior School students are able to complete Certificate I and II courses in a range of industry areas, with year 10 students having access to complete Certificate I courses. Two bus routes service primary and secondary students living on farms in our catchment area.
Jurien Bay District High School boasts a full range of facilities set in well maintained grounds. The school is very well equipped with a range of state of the art technologies, including several computer laboratories, interactive whiteboards, internet access, external and internal E-mail systems. All computers are networked and are supported by a wide variety of other digital equipment. There are specialist area buildings (Science laboratory, Home Economics, Information Technology Centre, Visual Arts Centre and Design and Technology Workshop) with our students reaping the educational benefits of working in modern and well designed learning areas. The school library contains a large range of books, audio-visual resources and computers to access the internet.
With the schools motto being 'Together in Learning' there is a focus on strong community relationships. The development of relationships with staff and students is a priority with mutual respect and high behavioural expectations key components in these relationships.
